4 Brean Down
Park in car park where tarmac road ends (ST296585).
Brean Down is a high rocky promontory jutting out into the Bristol Channel. Access to the top is either by a steep flight of steps or a more gradual tarmac path. From the steps White Rock-rose and Dwarf Sedge can be seen along with Somerset Hair-grass. From the tarmac path Milk Thistle and Ivy Broomrape are easily seen. At the far west of the Down are the remains of Brean Down Fort. The rocky cliffs in this area are good for Rock Samphire, Sea Fern-grass and Thrift.
